According to the test results of the Chinese Academy of Metrology, the color of the fabric also plays a role in blocking UV rays. The deeper, the lower the UV transmittance and the better the UV protection performance.
Generally, dark umbrella cloth can block 95% of UVA. Under the same conditions, the darker the fabric, the better the UV resistance. In contrast, black, navy blue, and dark green have better UV resistance than light blue, light pink, and light yellow.
Umbrella fabrics with sun protection function currently on the market are: PG cloth, black tape, colored tape, silver tape, pearl cloth, nylon, and polyester. The sun protection effect has gradually become weaker. In the case of the same fabric, the darker umbrella has better UV protection. The defensive effect of the black umbrella is relatively good, followed by pink and goose yellow, while the red has almost no UV protection function.
